Connecting to Celtic Christianity

  • Gembrook Retreat 215 Beenak East Road Gembrook, VIC, 3783 Australia (map)

A Quaker, a Christian and a Pagan went out for a walk…

At a time when different groups are separated by mistrust and rivalry, we invite you to come together with Gembrook Retreat folks and Dr Colm McNaughton for a story-sharing journey around three stones on the land.

Themes that will be covered include:

  • An explanation of the histories and complexities of the Celtic Church.

  • A visitation to the three stones that have become guardian stones for us, at Gembrook Retreat.

  • The sharing of stories of the three Christian saints from the early Gaelic church who incorporated elements of pagan nature-connection practice into their Christianity - St Brendan, St Brigid and St Colmcille.

  • Discussions around the Bunyip in the room, that is, ‘finding our roots’ while living on stolen land.

A combined Gembrook Retreat and Singing Blackbird event

You are welcome to BYO lunch to share together from 12:30pm, and stay on for a cuppa at the end.
